About Horizon BCBS of NJ
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey is the state's largest commercial health insurer, covering more than 3.7 million members. Horizon NJ Health (the Medicaid plan) operates as a subsidiary under the same parent organization. Horizon BCBS offers HMO, PPO, EPO, Direct Access, and OMNIA plan types through employers, the individual market, and the GetCoveredNJ marketplace. Members get access to the Horizon Blue app and the BlueCard national provider network for coverage across all 50 states.
Who is eligible?
Horizon BCBS is a commercial insurance plan available through employers, the NJ individual market, and GetCoveredNJ (the state's ACA marketplace). Unlike Medicaid, there are no income limits — eligibility depends on your employer's offerings or your marketplace enrollment.
